The ''black list'' of the European Parliament candidates in Romania |

Romanian NGO the
Coalition for a Clean Parliament made public on Sunday the list of EP
candidates in Romania who do not meet a set of integrity standards. The
11 candidates included on the CCP "black list", members of all
political parties, were considered from among candidades nominated for
eligible places, a press release received by HotNews.ro shows.
Among the listed candidates, Daniel Daianu, second nominee from the
Liberal Party, is accused of collaborating with the former Communist
secret police structures.
Gigi Becali, leader of the New Generation Party and owner of one of the
best Romanian football clubs, Steaua, is also on the black list.
Democrat Petru Filip, third nominee for the upcoming elections, is accused of favoring his family’s businesses.
Social Democrat's
second best nominee Adrian Severin is mentioned because his parents in
law received an apartment from the City Hall even if they did not
fulfilled the criteria.
The project is co-funded by the Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe - CEE Trust.
