Romanian
meteorologists announced on Sunday that the first three days of this
week would bring heavy rain and strong wind in most of the regions
while the first snow this autumn last weekend will keep falling in the
mountains.
On Saturday and Sunday, the snow already reached several centimeters
and caused serious traffic jams in several areas, according to Romanian
monitoring agency Rador.
Several tourists were evacuated from mountain chalets where some were
trapped. Up in the mountains, the snow level reached 13 centimeters
while the minimum temperature registered last night stood at -16
degrees Celsius.
In Bucharest, strong winds and continuous rain kept weather gloomy on Sunday and early Monday, leading to serious traffic jams.
