Lucian Bute won the world championship title after beating Columbian
Alejandro Berrio in Montreal on Friday to Saturday night. After the
game, Bute thanked Romanians who woke up late in the night to see the
match and addressed some words to his family.
The two fighters are the proponents of different styles: if Bute has an
elaborated, intelligent style, Berrio is a boxer who loves to fight
head on.
Bute’s coach, Stephane Larouche told Radio Romania that this was the second world champion he trained originating from Romania.
Former world champion, Romanian Leonard Doroftei declared that he knew Bute was ready to win the game.
