The poor results of the Romanian boxers in the last World Championship edition in Chicago and the recent incident in which three boxers from the national were found stealing from a local store lead to the dissolution of the national boxing team.
In an urgent meeting, the leaders of the Romanian Boxing Federation decided to dissolve the national Olympic team and to fire the technical coaches, Relu Auras and Emil Popa.

From now on, the boxers will train in three regional centers until the management will find a solution designed to revive the game.
Three boxers accused of theft in Chicago were excluded for life from the sport. The boxers declared at their turn that they are innocent and that everything as a poor misunderstanding.
