Red Bull posts 10.3m-euro sales and gains 70% market share |

Red Bull Romania posted sales worth 10.3 million euros (34 million RON)
in the first eight months of this year against the same time in 2006,
which accounts for approximately 70% of the energy drinks market,
according to the Nielsen data quoted by Red Bull. The producer's retail
sales of energy drinks amounted, in terms of volume, to 1.4 million
litres within eight months, an increase of 87% against the same time in
2006. The company's performance remains in line with this year's market
growth. The company posted its highest sales in the summer season in
2007; a trend that was eventually witnessed over the entire market.
This summer's growth peaked in August, when retail consumption reached 3 million euros (9.8 million RON), whilst 1.7 million euros (5.58 million RON) accounted for Red Bull sales. Energy drinks registered retail sales worth almost 8 million euros in the first eight months of last year. The top three companies on the market in terms of their retail market share in 2006 were Red Bull Romania (Red Bull), Coca-Cola HBC (Burn) and Dacardi Impex (Power Horse and Red Force), according to Nielsen data.
